Our mission
Amani Kids connects children and families of the African Diaspora who are refugees,
immigrants, and newcomers to trusted resources, opportunities, and supportive relationships
that help them thrive. Through community partnerships, education, mentorship, and family
support, we empower families to overcome barriers, build resilience, and achieve their full
potential.
Our HEART AND Vision
We envision thriving communities where every child and family of the African Diaspora has
equitable access to opportunities, feels a sense of belonging, and is empowered to succeed,
lead, and contribute positively to society.
Why We Exist
Amani Kids was founded from lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges
many refugee and immigrant families face when building a new life in the United States. Our
founder experienced firsthand the obstacles that can make this journey difficult, including
language barriers, limited access to information and resources, trauma, isolation, and the
challenge of navigating unfamiliar systems.
These experiences highlighted how overwhelming it can be for families to find the support they
need and how powerful trusted guidance and community connections can be. Too often,
families are unaware of available resources or struggle to access them because of language,
cultural, or systemic barriers.
That is why Amani Kids exists to serve as a trusted bridge, connecting children and families of
the African Diaspora to the resources, opportunities, and relationships that help them thrive. We
believe that when families are informed, connected, and supported, they can overcome barriers,
achieve their goals, and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
